On the surface, Grass Lake is about a mischievous night in the lives of 5 soon to be teenagers, a would-be killer, a school dance and a young couple's budding love.

But when one looks deeper than that, one finds that it is actually a film about accepting those who are different from us, about what it means to be a young man, and how bold it truly is to be unafraid to venture into the unknown.
